Record with a backing track

Backing-track recording is a Pro feature that lines your take up with audio already in your library.

Add a backing track

Tap Add backing track before you record. Choose an audio file from your library, or start recording while a track is already playing to use it from its current timestamp. On Free, this opens the upgrade flow.

Wait until the session is ready

Traklist prepares timing for a backing-track session before the recording controls become available. Start only once the record control is ready, and Traklist lines your take up with the backing track.

Change the track before you capture audio

You can remove a backing track before you begin. Once you have started recording or captured audio, the backing-track choice is locked for that take.

Save the finished take

When you save, Traklist mixes the backing audio into the finished recording. The saved file is one final take, not separate editable backing and vocal tracks.

Troubleshooting

If the recording controls do not become available, wait for backing-track preparation to finish. Remove or change the backing track before recording starts.
