Animated onboarding and dependable recording

The first onboarding screen now welcomes you with an animated Traklist logo and refined typography. Recording is also more dependable, with safer startup behavior, preserved backing tracks, and clearer feedback when a take cannot begin.

This release also improves guidance throughout the iPhone app and corrects the True Peak unit label.

Enhancements

  • Onboarding — The first welcome screen now features an animated Traklist logo with updated artwork and typography. The animation remains still when Reduce Motion is enabled.

  • Recording — The recorder now waits until the audio engine is ready before allowing a take to begin.

  • Recording shortcuts — Starting from Create, long-press actions, the Action Button, or a Traklist link now opens a fresh recording. To record over a track, use Add Recording or select a backing track inside the recorder.

  • Empty states — Improved guidance across Recently Created, Recently Played, Favorites, Recordings, Shared, Search, Insights, and social links.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed cases where the recorder could appear active without creating a take that could be saved.

  • Fixed backing tracks disappearing after audio settings changed or the recording engine rebuilt.

  • Fixed recording start failures being hidden or dismissing the recorder unexpectedly.

  • Fixed the True Peak unit label so decibels display correctly as dB.

Shared folder row menu, updated list text

Additions

  • Shared folder row menu — Every file and folder row in a shared folder now has an always-visible "…" menu, on desktop and mobile. It opens with the item's name plus Save and Download actions, replacing the previous hover-only buttons and the separate mobile download button.

  • Item details on view-only links — On share links without downloads enabled, the row menu shows item details instead — file size and type, or file counts and total size for folders.

Enhancements

  • Backdrop-aware row menu — The row menu matches your folder's backdrop color when one is set, on both the menu surface and its icons.

  • Aligned durations — Audio durations now sit beside the row menu, so the right edge of shared folder lists stays aligned for every file type — rows without audio no longer show an empty space.

  • Softer secondary text — Track numbers, subtitles, durations, and list stats now use a softer white that blends with folder backdrop colors instead of a fixed gray.

  • Cleaner audio subtitles — Audio file subtitles no longer repeat the file type — it remains visible in the title and the row menu.

  • Single file share subtitle — The subtitle on single shared file pages now shows just the owner, BPM, and key.

  • Save button — The Save button in shared folders updated to the standard 40px button style used across the app.

Upload protection and interface polish

Additions

  • Exit warning during active uploads — Closing the tab or window, refreshing, or navigating away while files are still uploading now triggers the browser’s native confirmation, helping prevent active uploads from being interrupted by accident. Supported in Chrome and Safari.

Enhancements

  • Multi-select bar adapts to the Details panel — The floating multi-select bar and its menu now stay centered within the available content area when the Details panel is open, preventing overlap or misalignment. Applies across My Library, Folders, Favorites, Shared, and Tags.

  • Global search opens full-width from Settings — Opening global search from a Settings page now closes the settings sidebar and displays search full-width, consistent with the rest of the app. On mobile, search no longer appears inset.

  • Recently Played updates automatically — Playing a track now moves it to the top of Recently Played after you move on to the next track. No refresh is needed, matching the behavior of the iOS app.

  • Cleaner Apply Folder Artwork feedback — When applying artwork from inside a folder, redundant loading and success messages have been removed since the artwork update is already visible. Errors still appear when needed. When applying artwork from a folder’s file menu, the confirmation now shows how many items will be affected.

  • Cleaner reordering for single-item folders — Folders containing only one item no longer display the reorder indicator line, since there is nothing to reorder it against. The item remains fully draggable.

Bug Fixes

  • Row numbers stay consistent when filtering — Applying a Tag, Type, BPM, or other filter inside a folder now preserves each item’s original row number instead of renumbering the visible results.

  • Play indicators stay in the correct Home section — When the same track appears in multiple Home sections, such as Recently Played, Recently Created, or Recordings, the playing indicator now appears only in the section where playback started. Selecting the track from another section also restarts it correctly with a single click.

  • Full breadcrumbs in Shared Folder subfolders — Navigating into subfolders through a shared link now displays the complete, clickable breadcrumb trail instead of only a back arrow. Folders above the shared root remain hidden for privacy, and breadcrumbs are hidden on smaller screens to preserve space.

  • Fixed Subscriptions breadcrumb alignment — The Change Plan and Subscriptions breadcrumb now stays aligned to the left margin when the Settings side navigation collapses on narrower desktop and tablet layouts.

  • Smoother Link Unavailable page — The page shown for disabled or deleted shared links no longer flickers between signed-in and signed-out states while loading. Artwork and audio visualizations also no longer appear late and shift the page layout.

  • More responsive empty states — Empty-state illustrations across My Library, Favorites, Shared, and Home now remain centered and scale more consistently across different screen heights, preventing them from overlapping the header on shorter screens or sitting too low on taller ones.

Natural sort order for files and folders

Enhancements

  • Natural sort order for files and folders — Names now sort in natural, numeric-aware order (Finder-style), so “Track 2” comes before “Track 10” instead of after it. Applies everywhere names are listed: Library, folders, Favorites, Shared Links, and the file/folder picker.

  • One-tap folder favoriting — Favoriting a folder is now a star toggle in the folder menu header — filled when it’s a favorite, outline when it’s not — instead of being tucked inside the overflow menu.

Bug Fixes

  • File menu no longer blocks the details panel — On narrow windows where the Details panel expands to full screen, the file options (“…”) menu now closes instead of floating on top of it and blocking taps.

  • Playing a track no longer reshuffles the list — When a list is sorted by Plays, starting a track updates its play count right away but keeps it in place, instead of jumping it to a new spot the moment playback begins. The list re-sorts once you move to another track. Applies in Library, folders, and Favorites.

Filtering and list view refinements

This update brings a round of improvements and fixes to filtering, list views, and folder interactions, making the new sorting and filtering experience feel smoother across your library.

Enhancements

  • BPM Graph Control — Set an exact BPM by clicking or dragging directly on the distribution graph or slider line, instead of needing to grab the handle.

  • Cleaner Filter Tags — Unselected tags in filters and search now use a softer background, so selected tags stand out more clearly.

Bug Fixes

  • Scroll Lock for Menus — Filter, Styles, and folder menus now keep the page locked in place while open, so scrolling no longer closes the menu or moves the page behind it.

  • BPM Range Handles — When the minimum and maximum BPM handles meet on the same value, you can now drag either one apart again.

  • Stable Filter Tags — Selecting a filter tag no longer makes it grow slightly or nudge nearby tags.

  • Tags Column Visibility — Turning on the Tags column in Library and Folders now shows it every time, even before any tags have been added.

  • Favorite Star Highlight — The highlight around the favorite button in list views is no longer clipped on the left edge.

  • Cleaner File Names — Letters like j, g, p, and y are no longer slightly cut off in list view titles across Large, Compact, and Text layouts.

  • Updated Loading Screens — Library and Folder loading screens now match the current header layout instead of briefly flashing the old filter and sort buttons.

A big update to sorting, filtering, and customizing your library

This release introduces a new unified Filter panel, click-to-sort list headers, and a new Styles menu for customizing how your lists look and feel. You can now filter faster, sort more columns, switch between list layouts, choose which columns appear, and use the Camelot wheel for harmonic key filtering

Additions

  • New unified Filter panel
One Filter button now opens everything in one place across Library, Folders, and Search. Filter by type and format, status, BPM, key, and tags without jumping between separate dropdowns.

  • New click-to-sort list headers
Sort lists by clicking column headers, now including Key and Tags alongside Name, BPM, plays, duration, and date. Favorites now includes the same sortable header experience.

  • New Styles menu for lists
Use the Styles button to choose your list layout, show or hide columns, customize folder colors, and reset everything back to defaults with one click.

  • List density options
Choose between Text, Compact, and Large list styles. Switching between Compact and Large now animates smoothly, and your Library and folders remember their layouts independently.

  • Camelot wheel key filtering
Filter by key using a Camelot wheel built for harmonic mixing. Pick a key and optionally include compatible keys. You can switch between Musical and Camelot views without losing your selection.

  • Camelot display option
Added a new setting in Settings → Display that lets you show Camelot codes, like 8B or 8A, in the Key column instead of musical keys. Your preference is remembered across reloads.

  • BPM histogram and range filtering
See your tempo distribution at a glance, then filter by an exact BPM or a custom BPM range.

  • Tag match modes
Choose whether tracks should match any selected tag or all selected tags.

  • Play a whole folder from the header
Start playback directly from a folder header. Tracks play in your current sort and filter order.

  • Quick multi-select preview
In text list view, hold Cmd/Ctrl and hover over a row to reveal its checkbox, making multi-select easier to discover.

Enhancements

  • Cleaner Library and folder headers
Filter, Styles, and list controls now sit closer to the title row, so your music starts higher on the page. Folder headers also get cleaner buttons, better spacing, and a refined color-recents row.

  • Lava Mode and list menu polish
The Styles and list menus now make it easier to switch views, customize your layout, and access visual options like Lava Mode where available.

  • Cleaner list subtitles
Your own Library, Favorites, Home, and folder views now show your name in list subtitles instead of raw file details.

  • Clearer Share buttons
A labeled Share button now replaces the old link icon across lists, folder headers, view screens, and menus.

  • More consistent tag chips
Tag chips now look and behave more consistently across Search, folders, and the Filter panel.

  • Smarter Tags filter
The Tags filter now shows only the tags available in the current Library or folder view, with selected tags floated to the top.

  • Refined key editor
Setting a track’s key now uses the same pill style as filters and requires a major or minor scale, so every keyed track works properly with Camelot.

  • Better responsive lists
Columns now appear and hide based on available width and the columns you have enabled. On very narrow screens, lists cleanly collapse to name and menu.

  • More polished controls
Menus, layout icons, buttons, and controls have been refined for a softer and more consistent feel.

Bug Fixes

  • Correct filter counts
The “Show N Items” count in Library and Folder filters could show the wrong total, and in some cases could allow a filter that returned no results. Counts now reflect the current view, and Apply is disabled when nothing matches.

  • More accurate BPM ranges
BPM range filters now correctly exclude items with no BPM, including folders and unanalyzed files, so counts match the histogram.
