Choose a recording save folder and location-based naming

Save Location controls where a take lands; naming settings control what the filename says.

Choose where new takes go

On the recording screen, tap the settings control, then choose a Save Location before you start recording.

  • Current — Saves to the folder open when recording begins. If you are not in a folder, it saves to My Library.

  • My Library — Always saves to My Library.

Add location detail to the recording name

When you choose Location naming, you can use City, Neighborhood, or Address detail. The iPhone app needs location permission to use this information.

Keep the destination and name separate

Save Location decides where the new file appears. Naming decides what its filename says. Set them independently when you want, for example, a City-named take saved to a specific project folder.

Troubleshooting

If a take saves somewhere unexpected, check Save Location before recording again. Location naming changes the filename, not the destination.
