Use breadcrumbs inside a shared folder

Breadcrumbs show where you are inside a shared folder and let you step back up toward the shared root.

Move around without leaving the shared area

On Web, breadcrumbs help you navigate inside a public shared folder. They stay scoped to what the share link gives you access to.

Follow the trail

At the shared root, there is no breadcrumb trail because you are already at the top of the shared area.

When you open a nested folder, the trail shows:

  • The shared root

  • Any shared folders between that root and your current folder

  • Your current folder

Select a folder name in the trail to return to that level. You can move up through the shared folders without reopening the link.

What the trail does not reveal

Folders above the shared root are not shown or linked. A shared link gives you a clear route through the shared area, not through the rest of the library.

Troubleshooting

On Web, breadcrumbs appear only after you open a folder below the shared root. The shared root itself does not show a breadcrumb trail. Breadcrumbs are not available in Traklist for iPhone.
