Understand uploading, importing, and processing statuses

When you add a file, transferring it and preparing it are separate steps. A file is ready only after Processing finishes and it appears normally in its destination.

What each status means

  • Queued — Traklist has the file and is waiting to begin.

  • Uploading — the file is transferring. You may see its percentage progress.

  • Importing — appears on Web when you bring in a file from Dropbox. It moves to Processing when Traklist has the file.

  • Processing — the transfer is complete and Traklist is still preparing the file. For audio, any audio-only results become available after this step.

  • A failed transfer shows This file has failed to upload on Web, or Sync Failed on iPhone.

There is no "Ready" label. When Processing ends, the status disappears and the file appears as a normal item in its destination. That is the ready state.

Where you see progress

  • On Web, upload progress appears in the Uploads tray. A completed row says Uploaded to followed by its destination.

  • On Web, Upload Complete means the current Uploads tray session has no work still in progress. Check the individual rows for any failed, skipped, canceled, or aborted files.

  • On iPhone, progress appears inline on the file in its destination. There is no Uploads tray. You may see Queued, a percentage while uploading, Processing, or Sync Failed.

When you need to act

  • For an ordinary transfer failure, choose Retry. On Web, use the file's row in the Uploads tray. On iPhone, use Retry from the file's inline Sync Failed state.

  • You can cancel an active file. On Web, Cancel [number] stops all incomplete files in the current session; Traklist asks you to confirm first.

  • A file that is unsupported or over 5 GB needs a supported or smaller replacement. Retrying the same file will not help.

  • If you see Storage full, free space or upgrade, then upload the file again.

  • If a file stays on Processing, wait for preparation to finish before deciding that the upload failed.

Important to know

Statuses describe the file's current step. They do not change the file's location. A Sync Failed status needs action, while Queued, Uploading, and Processing clear on their own as work continues.
