Audio player overview

Use the player to start a track, keep listening while you browse, and control what plays next.

Start listening

Traklist's player is for audio files, including songs and recordings. Other supported file types do not open in the audio player.

To start a track, click or tap its Play button. Starting from a folder or list makes a queue from the playable audio in that view. On iPhone, an audio file can also play from its local copy while it is queued or uploading. Web cannot play the local upload; it can play the file after the upload is saved and a playable server file is available.

Keep listening while you browse

On Web, the player stays at the bottom of the window while you browse. Its layout becomes more compact in a narrower Web window. Web does not have an expanded player.

On iPhone, a mini player appears above the tab bar with artwork, track info, progress, and Play/Pause. Tap it or swipe up to open the expanded player.

Control playback

In the wide Web player, the player shows Shuffle, Previous, Play/Pause, Next, Repeat, and the waveform. A narrower Web layout shows a reduced set of controls.

In the expanded iPhone player, use the waveform to seek and use Shuffle, Previous, Play/Pause, Next, and Repeat to manage the queue.

More on iPhone

The expanded player also includes artwork, audio visualizers, Compare, Match Loudness, AirPlay, sharing, and notes.

Listen from a shared link

If the shared link includes audio, visitors can play it. If it is password-protected, enter the password before listening. Downloading or saving files still depends on the link's settings.
