Your identity stays private on share links by default, even when you are signed in.

Decide when to share your identity

If you open a public link while signed in, your identity stays private by default. In Privacy, turn on Share my identity on public links only if you want the person who shared it to see your name and avatar in Recent Activity.

When Share my identity is off

• Public-link activity is presented as Anonymous.

• Anonymous visitors remain anonymous.

• Your activity can still contribute to aggregate Insights.

Important to know

Eligible signed-in public-link activity can appear with your name and avatar in Recent Activity for the shared item. This does not make your identity visible to everyone who opens the same link.
