Use On Hold to flag files for follow-up

Use On Hold when you want a file to stand out for follow-up without changing its location or playback.

Flag something you want to revisit

On Hold adds a visible marker to a file so you can find it later. It does not pause playback, move the file, hide it, delete it, or change who can access it.

Mark or remove a hold

  • On Web, use the hold control in a file row to choose Mark on Hold. Use Remove Hold to clear it.

  • On iPhone, open a file's actions, then choose Mark on Hold. Choose Remove Hold to clear it.

Note — On Hold works on any file, on both Web and iPhone. You cannot put a folder on hold.

Find held files

  • On Web, open Unified Filter, choose Status, then On Hold in your library or a folder. On Hold is not a supported search-results filter.

  • On iPhone, open Filter, choose Status, then On Hold. You can combine it with other filters; folders do not match this status.

Mark several items on iPhone

Select the files, then choose Mark on Hold. The action appears only when every selected item is a file, not a folder.

What On Hold does not do

  • It does not pause or stop playback.

  • It does not move, delete, hide, or change sharing for a file.

  • It does not choose or change the sort order.

Troubleshooting

If On Hold is unavailable, confirm the item is a file and not a folder, in your own library.
