Use folder search when you know the item is somewhere in this folder.
Find an item in the folder you have open
Folder search looks through the direct files and subfolders in the folder you are currently viewing. It does not search any deeper nested folders.
It matches names without regard to capitalization. It does not search notes, BPM, key, tags, or file contents.
Use Search your library when the item may be somewhere else.
Start a folder search
On Web, click the Search icon in the folder header, then type in Search in "folder name". Click the X to close the search.
On iPhone, tap the folder's search control to open Search in folder. Use Clear to erase your query or Cancel to return to the folder.
Open a result
Tap or click a subfolder to open it.
On Web, selecting a regular file closes search and focuses that row in the folder. Previewable files open their normal preview first.
On iPhone, selecting a file closes search and returns to its row. A playable audio file also begins playback.
Troubleshooting
If a result is not visible, confirm you are searching the folder you have open. Use Search your library when the item may be elsewhere.
