Create a custom folder order

Use custom order when you want a folder to open in a specific sequence.

Set up a custom order

  • Custom Order saves the sequence of files and subfolders inside one folder. It does not apply to My Library or other folders.

  • You can set or change custom order only for folders you own.

Arrange on Web

  • Open the folder and drag a file or folder to its new spot.

  • Drop at the top or bottom edge to change its position. Drop in the middle of a folder to move the item into that folder.

Arrange on iPhone

  • Press and hold a file or folder, then drag it to its new spot.

  • Drop at the top or bottom edge to change its position. Drop in the middle of a folder to move the item into that folder.

  • On iPhone, custom ordering is unavailable in My Library, shared folders, and offline folders.

Use a different sort

Choose a normal sort whenever you want a different view. Choose the folder's saved Custom Order to return to that sequence.

Troubleshooting

If dragging does not change the sequence, confirm the folder is owned and that you are not in My Library, a shared folder, or an offline folder.
